Buying a ring and getting the right size can be confusing… It has to be comfortable and secure, especially if you're ordering it from another country.
You don't need to go to a jewelry store to find your ring size. With a few minutes and a couple of things you probably already have at home, you can find it yourself.
MEASURE A RING YOU ALREADY OWN
This is the easiest and most accurate option. You'll need a ring that fits you well and a ruler.
- Place the ring on a flat surface.
- Measure the inside diameter from edge to edge, without including the thickness of the metal.
- Write down the measurement in millimeters.
- Compare it to the ring size chart.
(At the end of the article I will show you a photo with the conversion from mm to European size, which are the ones you can find on our website).
Another option is…
MEASURE YOUR FINGER DIRECTLY
With this option, we need to be more precise to get as close to the correct size as possible.
- Using a strip of paper, string, or thread, wrap it around the base of your finger.
- Mark the point where the end meets the paper or string.
- Stretch the paper and measure the length in millimeters.
- Compare it to the size chart.
TIPS THAT CAN HELP YOU IN THE PROCESS
Try measuring your finger at a time of day when you don't feel very swollen or when it's cold, because sizes can vary in both situations.
If your knuckle is wide at the bone, but the base of your finger is thinner, you'll have to make it harder to slip the ring over the knuckle so that it doesn't slip around on the bottom.
Repeat the measurement a couple of times to be sure.
If you're unsure between two sizes, it will all depend on the shape of the ring and what feels most comfortable. Generally, a taller and wider ring is best ordered a size smaller, as it will allow more room. A thin wedding band will usually slip on more easily, so I would recommend ordering a smaller size. If the ring is thick, you should order a slightly larger size.
There are also specific ring sizers with built-in sizers if you want to be absolutely sure.
But don't worry, if you have any questions before placing your order, we'll be happy to help you find the perfect size.
